Problem Statement

In land-scarce Singapore, it is pertinent that we reduce waste volume efficiently to conserve landfill space. The current linear economic system is unsustainable in the long run. We are depleting the finite supply of resources while creating piles of waste as output at an increasing rate.

Our team recognises that Reduce is placed before the other 2Rs as it is the most important value. This is simply because if Singaporeans actively reduce their consumption, there would be no need for us to go into reusing or recycling.

Our Target

Habits are hard to change, and the culture of consumerism has been growing amongst Singaporeans as we become more affluent. Highest volume of waste is a result of us purchasing more goods, even those we do not need. We aim to target the root cause of this issue by raising awareness of how reducing our consumption can lead to benefits on the individual level as well as to our environment.
